Can t5's rival halides?

I currently can a 120 sps reef established for over 2 years. Currently run 2-250 halides in coral life reflectors with actinic vhos. I just put a ATI t5 fixture over another tank and really like the look. I'm wondering if the hardcore sps people here feel t5 can rival halides if I decide to switch over? Even a 8 lamp t5 fixture would be considerably less watts and I do have a number of Acro/stags. Thoughts?

Most amazing SPS tanks in my area are all T5. Same with some euro tanks. Unless your tank is 30"+ deep t5 will be fine. ATI fixtures are super nice.

T5's can grow great sps, even without any help from halides or led's. That being said a hybrid light will have everything. Since each lighting option lacks something in some shape or form.

ATI T5 for the win. Only ever ran sps tanks under T5

Thanks all! Good links! One thing I feel I have an issue with, although not aweful is shadowing. There are areas that seem to be loosing color/tissue due to lack of light. I'm hoping I can solve some of this with more even light of the t5's.
