Can These Prices Be For Real???

Well, I guess there so cheap because they are not "name brand" for all we know I would not be suprised if a good amount of the bulbs we purchase are just relabeled, so your just paying for the name.... Give them a try and write a review...

Quite a few folks have used it in my local forum. They usually don't last as long (6-9 months) before shifting colors, etc. etc. But they seem to be worth it in terms of $$$.

I think I will call them and ask a few questions before making a purchase.
If they are worth anything and even if they last only 6-9 months that beats the heck out of $75 a piece for a brand name. You could replace them every 3 months and still come out ahead.

I like the look of the 400's too. Maybe not as visually bright as some. But seem to grow coral just fine.

I recently replaced an incandescent bulb in my closet with a daylight CFL bulb with a Kelvin rating of only 5000K and I was quite impressed by how blue the bulb looked I was actually considering pulling my halides and replacing them with the daylight spiral CFL bulbs. That is how I stumbled across these.
Has anyone tried the daylight CFL bulbs? If the 5000K bulb looks that blue I wonder how the 5600K and 6500K look.

I like to keep my reef as little of an experiment as possible. ;)

I do wish you the best of luck though. Can't beat cheap if it works.

I hear ya but I am on a very low budget. It took me weeks to talk the wife into letting me replace my PC bulbs.
If I can get all three of my MHs for less than half the price of one name brand bulb I might just have a chance.
I have been running the same MH bulbs for over two years and my tank reflects that.

Look up EBAY bulbs in the search function on here and you will find countless posts about these bulbs. That company sells them on there as well. The comments seem to be more on the good side then the bad. BUT most of the posts are of new bulbs and then you don't hear from those posters again more times then not. If you are on a budget then I would try them out.

As for the CFL bulbs they will not do much in the way of supporting most corals on a large tank. If this is for a fish only tank then that should not be a problem.

I didn't buy them, but I saw them on a friend's 210, and I liked the color better than the XM he was also running. He said the growth of the sps was maybe marginally better under the XM, but they were still supporting sps at the bottom of a 210, which is a pretty tall tank.

Sorry for the crappy pic(cell phone) but I think the plusrights were the left and middle, and the xm was on the right. you can tell it looks a little dimmer. But both have good color IMO

Uncle Salty, I have been running the 250W 20K bulbs since march. No I'll affects so far. I didn't have a lot of super needy light stuff at the time so I thought what the heck can't go wrong. I bought mine off eBay for 20 bucks apiece. I've had great luck with them, I keep an LTA, and a RBTA, zoos, ricordea's, candy cane, clam, and a few other corals under them now, all showing good color and growth. Haven't had any algae issues show up either. I typically run a 14 or 15 k bulb, but a lot of the reviews I read said that they aren't as blue has a name brand bulb so I went with the 20 k and love the color.

I've got a 400w 14k that's been running over one of my tanks for about 10 months now with no issues. I'd buy them again.

Anyone notice that they say needs shield? Plus they say M58 ballast, Will they work with an electronic ballast too?
