Can you identify this fish?

Hello everyone I was wondering if any of you can identify this fish I caught it at my local beach.

Also if you can help me identify these old is it would be great.

+1. Looks like a goby or blenny but could be many other things. Hard to tell

Looks like some kind of horned blenny. Tried looking up pictures but did not see a good match. I don't think gobies have the extension coming off the head.

Do you have proper licenses to just take fish from the beach or ocean? If you do have the proper licenses, then why on earth would you take a fish that you have no idea what it is? You sound just like another member on here grabbing fish from the ocean and then asking what it is... Not a advised practice license or not :debi:

Yes he's right you never know what you have just done to your tank, it may have diseases that your fish aren't used to. And you may be depleting an endangered fishes population.

That'd be me. Any fish I've wanted to identify were returned after I photographed them, and any shrimp were legally caught.

In future, perhaps set up a tank with ocean water that has never been exposed to tank water in order to avoid pathogen transfer. You could put something in there to ID it, but only if you're sure it's legal to keep said thing. And if it turns out to be endangered- put it back. If something has been exposed to anything related to tank water, it may have pathogens on it and probably shouldn't be released, so be very careful.
