I just noticed this tonight. It happened a little while ago. What are these things coming out of my brains mouth? They are brown and stringy. It looks like he is purging. Can you please help me?

He might have indirectly gotten some food tonight, but I didn't directly feed him. Nothing in my lighting has changed, but my clam is releasing Zooxanthellae today. Nothing in my lighting has changed though.

I sorry but I thought that if your bulbs when bad nothing would happen that fast. Mine have been bad for about 3 months and I have a brain just like that and have no problem. But if you change to a brighter light then you might have problems. I thought bleaching was tide to a change in water temp.

My temp is stable. 77*, I honestly don't know if my mh bulb I bought off Ebay was new or not. It said it was, but it didn't come in it's original packaging. I recently read an Article on RC though that MH bulbs can last quite a bit over a year with only I believe it was, 20% loss of light. Don't quote me on that. It's on the front page though. Temp stays level in my tank though. If he made a poo, are they usually that big? I've seen my other brain poo, but it was nothing like this. There is a Yellow Fiji about 4 in away from him, and a zoanthid colony about 2 in away. I have a Lord Acan about 2 in away at all. Any chance one of these guys could have done this? =*(

I agree with sk8r. Is this a relativly new addition to your tank? I would not sweat it. Corals do this to adjust to light. I have had many corals do this with no bad side affects.

I'm glad its nothing to worry about. My new Torch corals heads have been taking turns doing this and my branching hammer had one of its heads do it a few days after the torch coral addition.

Well,
So far mine hasn't done it anymore. It was actually kind of freaky. I didn't know if something stung it and it was having effects from it or what. I moved some corals around him a bit yesterday. They are now further away. Hopefully this will help. TY
