Canon 400 help needed

Hi everyone,

I just bought the Canon EOS 400 earlier today, just before all shops closed.
Camera is very nice and fun to play with, but the manuals are in German - French and Italian.

Just my luck.

Am I misunderstanding something. I thought you could see the motive on the LCD, before you push the button. Pic comes up fine after shooting, but not before. Just some paramenters

All my old ps cameras did that. This is my first dSLR so maybe I am looking for something that simply isn´t there or what ?

It doesn't work that way with dslr's- sorry. You have to get back to the old-fashioned method of using the viewfinder
