this is what I started with since it was ment for our old house and was 26in tall I shortened it to 16 in I'm sure iv ****ed off my neighbors I started cutting and reworking after my son went to sleep lol

I hung the lights back up since I knew it would be about a week before I finished skinning and making the door

So yesterday being the amazing wife that she is. She suggested that we went to lowes and got some oak to skin the canopy and start to finish it up along with a side project she wanted done

After spending 30 mins walking through the trim and baseboard section I couldn't decide on a fancy crown molding to complete the look so I decided to just make it match the stand with 2in wide pop boarder around the whole top

I still need to trim the sides and make the kind clean and straight. I also have to figure out how I'm going to get this 7ft door to stay up so I can work in the tank. I'd like to get an linear actuator but don't have the funds for that or an outlet lol any ideas?

if you're still looking to trim the tank, check out bt moulding in Phx lot more variety then lowes and cheaper too

Nice canopy. Did you figure out how to keep it open when working on the tank?

Haha for now it's the cranium holding it up and damn it's heavy, I'm still looking for options as the hood struts would work but they will rust too fast for my likin
