canopy for 46 bowfront

Does anyone know if there is a company that makes canopies for a 46 gallon bowfront? I've been looking and can't find one.

Thanks

Not sure, I've got the 54 Corner bowfront and I made one myself, turned out ok, but it was a real pain building something on a curve like that, at least with my limited tools/abilities. You may try talking to a cabinet maker though, not sure how much it would cost.

yep a cabinet maker, any cabinet maker should be able to do it- your probably looking around $200... they are def going to charge more for a bow (more labor)

I built the canopy on my 46 bowfront. I used cardboard to trace out the radius of the tank and then transfered onto a piece of plywood.Cut it out x 2 and then used 1x4's to line the perimeter of the canopy. Heres a pic of how it came out.Pay no attention to the dirty tank........

I did pretty much what 46bfinga did except that I used a 3/4 inch piece of plywood and scored it appox. 1/2 inch deep; in order to bend the plywood.

This is what I got:

Ordy, if it's possible, could you send me more pics of that canopy, that's exactly what I need to do. Thanks

How I did it: Make a three sided box out of 3/4 inch plywood. The box's open side ends just at where the bow starts.

Cut out a piece of plywood that is as high but wider than the box. You'll be slowly removing the ends of this piece once you score the inside and bend the plywood.

The trim is some synthetic stuff that Lowes sells. It can be bent but is very fragile.

Let me know how it turns out.
