Can't find my conch

I haven't seen much conch or they XL nasser I us snail for their past couple of days, I can understand that some of my snails and shrimp may hid in nooks and cranies from time to time, but a conch?

I also noticed pieces of my scarlet crab's legs floating around. Do crabs molt?

I used to lose my Conch from time to time too. You'd be surprised how they can hide.

Yes crabs do molt.

No need to worry until you start finding empty shells.

Thanks, I was worried that I wouldn't find him and end up with a huge spike in parameters

I'll keep an eye out for them to pop up, I had seen them roaming their top of their sandbed so commonly since adding them that I wondered where they may have gone

With the Conch if your sand bed is shallow you will see their shell from time to time, mostly you just get to see their wake as they cruise under the sand..
Conch will also go dormant for weeks sometimes...
With the XL Nassarius look for a little dark colored stalk sticking out of the sand about 3/8 of an inch or so, that's their sniffer.. When they smell food they will pop right up..
Take a small piece of shrimp and push it into the sand up close to the glass, that's how I do my headcounts...

I thought the trunks sticking out was the coolest thing when I first noticed it. Just finished counoting trunks and all are accounted for, so nasser I us mystery solved. I'll just be patient and wait to see if they conch pops up at some time.

Nassarius are pretty cool snails, I have some food discs that you can stick to the glass.
Put one on the glass right at the waterline and they all will find it very quickly..

My conch went dormant for nearly two months, then one day it reappeared and has been busy ever since. Besides, if the conch died, your nassarius would be the first to know and you would see a "gathering".
I wouldn't worry.

Well, as everyone stayed there conch came back. Noticed him out and about last night as I was adding a few coral (also came to realize this morning that he is their culprit for knocking down my new hammer coral that was placed in their sand
