Can't get rid of flukes...Prazi didn't work

Hello everyone, I've tried really hard using Prazipro with even 1.5x dosage and it just doesn't work. I've been medicating the tank for over a month now. They don't seem to be affected by Prazi. I've got eye flukes before and they went away but fish still twitches especially the moorish idol. I do see white stuff on the side of the fish. It's not ich dots but larger & less round than ich dots. They are translucent and I see several on the fins too. There are probably 3 - 5 spots on my moorish idol and 2 - 3 on my Achilles. I've QTed them before and I don't even recall how many times I treated them with Prazi. Now they are all in my DT I'm just wondering if I can have them live with it. The dots don't really come out often. Recently I turned off my skimmer and was doing Prazi so the water quality went bad so more dots appeared. I have a cleaner wrasse and two cleaner shrimps. Not sure if they pick at them.

They are comming back... Mostly white dots on fish but not ich-like. What should I do? Can fish live with ich? Cleaner wrasse or shrimp? Thanks!

LOL I meant to say "Can fish live with flukes?" sorry. This is my last resort I've treated the whole tank with prazi many times and I thought it was gill flukes but I failed to see any rapid breathing but just sesame sized irregular translucent dots on fish. I had a cleaner wrasse so I barely could see any but recently the wrasse died and I see 15 - 20 of them on my purple tang.

Depending on how bad it is, you could go the Dylox route. But you'd have to be very careful. Very easy to screw that up like that public aquarium did.

I've tried Prasi but no good result (in fact they were QTed with Prazi too). I qt & TTed the fish with prazi. I don't think I will be able to eradicate it nor do I have the energy and equipment to take down everything and medicate them. So I'm just thinking of getting a cleaner wrasse to keep them in check.

I'll pass on that one. I have some very expensive rare angels in my tank and corals so I'm not thinking medicating the tank at this moment.

I was reading recently that cleaner wrasse have very poor survivability in captivity. Neon gobies and cleaner shrimp are better options.

That said, I'm not even sure if the cleaner species eat flukes. Maybe someone else will chime in.

Can you take pictures of your actual fish. I'm curious at how bad the infection is.

I have neon goby and cleaner shrimp they don't eat them. I tried to take some pictures just now with no success. They are not that visible under my camera. But I can assure you that they are skin flukes.

Are you using Prazi Pro or a praziquantel powder that you mixed yourself? If doing one didn't work try the other approach. Or as I said Dylox but only if the fish looks bad enough to warrant a harsh treatment like that.

I'm far from an authority. So take it all with a grain of salt. See what folks here in RC tell you and maybe send an email to the Wetwebmedia folks too.

Thanks! I'll try with a cleaner wrasse first and see if it can get it under control. I used to have a cleaner but got killed by a med I dosed into the tank. During the tank the cleaner was there I didn't see this many flukes. So I'll give it another shot.

I have had to use PP at twice the concentration to kill off some flukes. Paraguard will work too, but has to be dosed daily for at least 2 weeks. You have to stop the eggs from being laid, since PP and or formalin don't do much for the eggs. A cleaner wrasse will eat the flukes but won't cure the problem. Some fish will stop eating and die within a week or two if the flukes get too bad, so no fish can't really live with flukes
