Correct me if im wrong ,Ive been fighting canyo for about a week or so,its mainly on one rock and the sand,my question is if no more phosphates are introduced to the tank and im running rowaphos changed out every 4 days, and vacuum out what i can ,will it go away on its own?

once your nitrates go down it will go away how old is the setup?

btw the nitrates might read zero because they're trapped under the cyno

its about 3 months old but all the rock came from another tank that has been going for about 2 years, how long should it take to go away

If the rock was exposed to high PO4 it could leach it back for months in low PO4 water.

I'm by no means an expert there are some members of this forum who could probably answer this for you in two sentences but as for me... not so much all i can do is ask some questions and try to help... when i had my cyano issue i did weekly water changes and when i changed out the water i would suck out the nasty stuff with my syphon. on top of that i ran plenty of carbon which always help RO/DI water is amust and a good protein skimmer it would take days to months depending on your system also how is your lighting system? lighting plays into it as well..

Good luck!! post pics if u can

I run RO/DI that checks out 0tds my lights are new 6 t5ho Ive cut back on lighting to 4hrs a day I tested everything and it all checks out 0ppm ,the one rock it started on came with a frag it now has a lot of other frags on it so I cant take it out,I just got done adding 2 more power heads to increase flow, but I dont think my flow has anything to do with it I have CL with a 1150 gph ,a eheim 1260 return pump and now 2 Koralia 550s, my skimmer is a vertex in 100 ,I also forgot to say all this is on a 45 cube 24x24x18

I battled cyano in my 120 for years with water changes, rock scrubbing, siphoning, tank blackouts, chemi-clean, etc. Initially it was severe but these measures kept beating it back, although it never truly went away. Then I graduated, moved out, and the tank gets maintenance 2-3x a year max... and there's no cyano. go figure.

Keep siphoning what's there, don't let too much detritus accumulate, and ensure that your tank has good water flow. Then report back in a month or two, or three...

Just curious; what sort of shape was the rock in when you picked it up? Was the previous owner having any issues like GHA? How did you transfer it to your tank? Was the tank cycled before you put the rock in?

The rock came from a my tank I down sized, all was good there, the rock i got with some frags came from a tank that was not taken care of there was no lights,so I didnt see any canyo,I did see GHA but not on the stuff I got,and i still dont , and yes the tank was cycled.

I keep seeing people say they use red slime remover with good luck, I was wondering what one is being used with the best results?

Well I decided against adding any miracle drugs to my tank, and i think Im winning the battle,Lights out for 3 days rowa phos and water changes,I can see bits and pieces of it starting to come off and float to the top, hopefully I won not the CYANO!!!

Agree, best bet is to cut back on feeding for a couple weeks (reduce it to once per day) and do lights out for 2 days every couple weeks.

Bump up your water change to twice a week, feed Sparely. Only way to beat it is to reduce the nutrients in your tank. Cutting back on the light will not do much, as light is not its primary food source.
