Captive Bread RBTA.

I bought a captive bread RBTA at the LFS about 1 month ago. It has been doing very well (has not tormented any corals yet). My question is given that anemones have such a dismal success rate, does it make a difference buying a captive bread anemone? Or is the success rate just as dismal? Any thoughts appreciated.

Thanks,

Mike

Getting a captive bred bta makes a huge difference.

There is much less transport stress than being shipped 12,000 miles and less chance of having his foot torn when being removed.

Assuming you have an appropriate environment and food for a BTA they are quite hardy when you have a good specimen. I really think that 4X65 is a little low on a 90 though. I have 4X65 on my 20L though I'm only driving them at 4X55.

I have 2x150HQI + 4x65PC hood on it's way. I think that will make a big difference for the RBTA and corals. Thanks for the info.

the success rate is better, plus you dont have the environmental impact of removing animals from an eco-system.
