Captive grown

They sell several different "brands". Ora and Tcn are the best IMO.

The Certified Captive grown corals are junk...they are slow growers and often diseased (just got a yellow porites infested with nudis). Some of the photos are misleading.

The three certified corals I purchased were the solamon pink digi (alive for 3 years without growth), Hodag's Motipora (died after two months) and canary porites (arived covered in porites eating nudibranch).

I have about 40 different hard corals I've only lost one in 4 years (Hodag's). I thought the canary porites was dead after repeated dips and actually reported it dead on these boards as the number 2 coral that I have ever lost (it survived).

They sell great corals....just not their own.
 
I've never personally purchased from them, but unfortunately a friend had the same issue. Everything came in covered in AEFW and nudis.

They have the best customer service available and as far as I'm concerned they can stick their guarantees and service up their own ***....because they use it as an excuse to try and pass off some pretty stupid stuff.

What good is a guarantee after your tank is wiped out?

I'm done with em.

Hmm well that sucks. Can anyone recommend a different place to buy sps corals?
 
I ordered from them and was reasonable happy. I ordered a pack and didn't get what should of been in there, but the corals that did come were very nice. Vivid Aquarium and Atlantis are two site that have some very nice stuff. I know a lot of people get down on them but if you can find someplace the sells ORA corals, they are very nice.
 
well i have a tank full of corals from LA, as a matter of fact they are the only on-line vender i deal with

i have boughten ORA, Maricultured, wild caught, and their own captive breed stuff.

They have an excellent rep for pac and ship and of course well known for their guarantee

i would HIGHLY recommend live aquaria to anyone - i would do a bit more research before you take the word of a couple people who you don't know on line complaning about a company like LA. as a matter of fact their are a couple active threads right now in this forum with people showing off their recent LA DD purchases - check them out and see what they say
 
I love LiveAquaria customer service, but every time i order an sps from them it comes completely bleached out and on its last leg. There fish seem to ship just fine!

Yeah, I think I'll give them a shot mainly because even if they send me something that is either dead or almost dead they will replace it, right?

Their ORA corals are fine. A lot of people sorta half read things then come up with witty rebuttals. Nothing bad was said about their Ora corals.

Nanook just happened to order at the same time I did. We both got Nudis...yet they never took them off-line. As far as I know they continued selling them to people knowingly.

Just something to think about....they guarantee what you buy. They won't pay for everything in your tank that gets eaten or diseased.
