Captive propagated haddoni?

It take some more documentation before I am convince that it is a Haddon. I rant to think that it is a Tapetum until it is show otherwise

I have sucessfully manually propagated my Haddoni. I have pics to prove it.
Orion how many solid color S. Tapetums have you seen? I have only seen the Red true Minis and I have a few of them...

The Haddoni was found in a wholesaler tank. About the size of a quarter. Whether it was born in there or was in a box of nems imported IDK. BUT it was Captive raised...BY ME... and Successfully manually propagated by me. The first cut was a few months after I received the nem you can still see it was bleached quite a bit. I know the pics are not the greatest but look at the tentacles on the rim. Not pointed like a Tapetum very round and uniformed. I have the nem sitting in a holding net if anyone locally would like to take a look.

I'll upload some pics now...Ty

When I first got it...bleached badly...

I have a solid blue carpet, and a green one just like the one pictured. I have had both for about a year, and mine are quite obviously S. Tapetum. That said, I would like to see if any of these nems pictured ever get over a foot across. I could be wrong but I am not convinced.

Hey Minh, I could only wish I could successfully sexual propagate Haddoni's. I have had success with cutting them tho. about 75% success. These are pics of the first cut... still has little color. Second cut was better and the third I almost lost both ended up losing one. I would not recommend this to a noobie cause this is not a BTA. It doesnt naturally split tho I have heard of it happening on very rare and stressful conditions (haddoni splitting). I hope thias clears up any confusion.

I DID NOT get haddoni to reproduce sexually. I did raise a very small Haddoni maybe born in captivity (was not ordered but was in holding tank) and manually cut it on three occasions with 3 of the 4 surviving. 75% success but after I almost lost both on the third cut (not equally divided) I have decided not to cut anymore.

lets see pics of yours. One i have is up to about 6-8 inches from a quarter in a 4 or so months and only growing more and more. Do you notice how the tentacles are full with no patterns like S Tapetum. The only place on this nems oral disk that does not contain tentacles is the mouth. No bare spots like most S Tapetum. And the exterior tentacles are round not pointed like S Tapetums.

Lets see some of your pics so I can show you that you are mistaken. Thanks, Ty

With a warm welcome like that, how can I refuse! :p

I'll just pass on a fight and say that I am mistaken. Congrats on your Haddoni propogation.

I'm not looking for a fight. That was not a rude comment and I apologize if that is how you took it. This is just a discussion.

I would like to see you S Tapetums so we all can compare them and see if I am mistaken. I am not looking to be hostile or rude.
We are all adults here. Will you post some pics of your solid color S. Tapetums. I personally didnt know they existed so I am clearly wrong in that aspect. I have only seen solid red (I own a few) and a few mostly one color but not solid. Thanks, Ty

In order to save us all time, I went back and found the thread I started when I got them. I did this because I have the most variety of angles there, which allows us to make this a quick assessment. When settled, they look like yours, but when stressed and uprooted, you can see the "bald spots" you were referring to. So it appears I was mistaken.

It's doing ok. It's almost tripled in size since those pics, and it moved out of the shell to it's own rock. Not quite as colorful as I'd hoped, but it's kinda shaded. How about yours? I'd like to see it for comparison, if possible??

I actually got a solid green one that look just like the one that you cut. Please take a close up picture of the column and also a clear picture of the tentacles on the edge of the anemone. It is easy to tell if an anemone is a Tapetum with this two views.

It's partially hidden behind a hedge of halimeda right now (it's a sort of combination maxi-mini/planted tank), but I'll get my Photobucket account up and running so I can share some pictures.
