Carbon bag in front of powerhead?

The tank is a bit cloudy, so I want to add a bag of activated carbon to the sump. I hung it so its directly in front of the little powerhead and plan to remove it after about 10 days. The carbon in the bag is being stirred around a lot. Is that a problem? I know it can cause it to break into smaller and smaller pieces... But I'm not sure what the ramifications are. Is this kind of the same idea as a carbon reactor?

I took a video and a couple pics, not sure if the video will load properly.

Don't think it will hurt any having it in front of your powerhead. Seeing that you have a Red Sea Reefer, had you considered putting the carbon bag in/near the drain section?

How long had the tank been setup?
Is you cycle complete?
Could it be a bacteria bloom?
Do you have any livestock in it?

So many unknowns right now. If you are still going through your cycle, could be a bloom that will go away on its own in a few days.

Thanks for responding! I hadn't considered putting it up top, but that isn't a bad idea. The tank has been up for about 3 months, cycled and doing well. There are 3 fish and a small clean up crew in it presently.

I just did a water change and thought it would help, but the effect was negligible. I am not using socks right now, i just put pods in the sump, and fed some nano brine shrimp. I think that is where the cloudiness came from but not positive.

If that stuff gets blown around too hard it's going to grind and create a bunch of dust that could make it into the DT. Carbon in bags works better as an absorption media rather than a pass through media in that setting
