Mark we won't need the adapter for the water, I picked up one at home depot and went and installed it Wednesday, and she was making water when I left. If anyone has a portable TDS meter please bring it so that we can test the filters to make sure they are working ok. Mine is an inline, I can unplug it but kinda hate to go through that trouble. I was going to install the skimmer that same day, but ran into problems again (say it aint so). The gate valve mod that was shipped is standard PVC and will not fit the existing skimmer return without some modifications . I think it will allow us to do what was planned and dump the return back into the other side of that divider in the sump. However, looking at it we still have the auto top off to install and will have to also try to wedge the heaters in somewhere as well. I am not sure if the sump is going to hold everything. Dobb said he and Philip went up and looked and Philip thought that maybe we should move the return pumps out of the sump and make them external. That would definately help, but I dont know about with those pumps. My mag on mine is mounted external, and it works great that way. She really needs a larger sump or at least one deeper front to back, and with the proper dividers in place to give it the correct depth and maybe fuge area. Wednesday the tank was free of any algae and the last time I seen it it was alot worse than mine is now and thats bad. She made the addition of some large turbos and a rabbit fish and they worked like a champ. Also Dobb found that one of the pumps was off on a visit up there a couple weeks back. Again the sump is going to be an issue, that will need to be addressed one way or another during the meeting. Now back to that skimmer, and the gate valve mod that was ordered. Basically one side of the 1 1/4" joint will need to be made a little larger in diameter. I was thinking about a cylinder hone like used on automobile engines. Unless someone has a better idea this is what we will try. It only like maybe an 1/8" or less. Thought if it was done that way then it would still be perfectly round and with a little pvc glue it should work like a champ. I plan to attend this meeting unless something changes.
