One problem those are the old ones those schools no longer exist now the elementary and high school is in one building. I was kinda waiting on Dobb as I forgot the exit number off Hwy78 I think it was 46 but I am not sure. If he doesn't respond by in the morning I will call the school and get the exit number.

Basically from Birmingham get on 78w and stay on it till you get to the Carbon Hill/Nauvoo exit. You can see the school on the left side of the interstate. at the end of the exit ramp take a left go maybe 1 mile and the entrance to the school is on the left. Go to the front parking lot of the building all the way over to the right side and the entrance to the Elementary is the doors to the right.

Yes, I just found the actual school on the arial view on google maps. The exit is Nauvoo Rd / Highway 11. According to Wikipedia.com its Exit 46.

So, here's some more exact Directions..

2: Merge onto US-78 W / AL-4 N via EXIT 123 toward JASPER. 52.5 miles

3: Take the Carbon Hill / Nauvoo (Highway 11 / Nauvoo Rd) Exit (Exit 46).
4: Turn LEFT onto Highway 11 / Nauvoo Rd ~1.0 miles

5: You can't miss the school.

Excellent strong work! Much thanks and I also noted that Iconz has already updated that on the website that will be printer friendly with his contact information. I look forward to the meeting. I will be going up tonight to get some water heating and mixing for the meeting. Can we get a count on who all is planning to attend. I will be bring a couple of green digitata frags, some greenstar polyps, some silver green polyps, a small mushroom or two.

i'll be there.

i'm bringing about 15 gals of fresh ro/di water for top offs, and an 18 gal rubbermaid container to hold it in. I don't know how long this will last them, but it can't hurt.

I also have a 40' water change siphon system that we might could make good use of for the change if you all think it would help, I don't mind bringing it.

Hi all, I am thrilled to find this club and website....I would like to try to come on saturday but am unsure at the moment. (boy it is a long way from Pell City) tell me about the shop in Bessemer are they online only or do they have a store front? if you all are familiar with aquarium designs at the galleria in hoover how would you compare the two? thanks for input
Terry

AD is good but in my opinion saris is better. they are more customer friendly and seem to have not a more selection but a better selection of fish and corals.

RUG: As the owner of a retail store, you can understand why we won't put down one shop and boast about another.... However, with that said, I shop with Underwater Creations and with Tropical Pet Cove in Alabaster. Go and check them out for yourself. If you don't see what you are looking for, either store would be happy to order whatever livestock you fancy. Plus these two stores get to know you and your tank, so you don't have to tell a different person your life story every time you walk in the door.

^^ I agree with Krafty and KG. AD is 15 mins closer to me than Sarris is, but I still drive to Sarris for their service and personalbility (sp?) Sarris' prices are better from what I've seen so far, too! (usually as good or better than online prices after you factor in shipping!) Also, when I need something, I just call um up, have them order it, and pick it up when it comes in.

Keep in mind, this is just IMO and my POV (point of view).
I think AD would be a good store, but they're in a very high-traffic location, and from their POV, 70%+ of the people coming in are just there to see their tanks. So, why would you want to waste your time answering 1000 "What's this...?" questions per hour. I'm sure their location is good for attracting new people to the hobby, but, unfortunatly, this has just costed them some business of truly interrested hobbist as well.

Ok guys take 78 hwy west toward Tupelo take exit 46 at end of exit ramp take a left go approx 1 mile and school is on your left.
The school is both elementary and high school we will be on the right hand side which is the elementary side. Looking forward to seeing everyone and after talking with the principal tonite she is looking forward to meeting everyone as well. The tank has a whole lot of potential and I think will be a great way to kick off our club meeting. See you Saturday.

RugDog I hope to see you there, if not then catch the next one close to you and join our forums when they open. As for your question its better that a person makes their own decision. I used to spend my time in an out of aquarium designs when philip was there and had a good selection of corals. Also Philip was like Chris and Nick over at Sarris, always willing to answer a question and offer advice. Chris and Nick are two great guys and if you ask they will shoot you a straight answer. You can email them and they will respond within a few hours. I am not sure that it was stated above but when I mentioned the school project to the club Sarris immediately responded offering to donate corals and fish. That is just the type of guys they are. They also offered to host every CARC meeting there and provide refreshments at each. As a club we wanted to travel through the places our members were at so we passed on the offer, but we will host there a few times a year I am sure. I will say I have met some really friendly guys at AD and have nothing bad to say about them, as stated above they are busy with transient folks often but are bringing new folks in everyday with the location. As for comparing the two, I think you should just visit both and make your own opinions. Sarris is out on exit 6 on 459 just down from the Galleria. If you go to our site they are listed in the vendor section with a link. Check out the images of their corals, most all you see are for sale. If you have any questions about the club then send me an email and I will be glad to talk with you.

ZaoZao, I hope you make it out bring the family with you and we will see you there. I am bringing those to donate to the school tank, but if you are looking for something I might could frag a trade. I just aquired a new cap that is Brown/Tan with a blue rim, and could bring an inch or so frag of that to swap. Or just about anything else (well not the RPEs yet ;) but they are starting to take off I have about 15 polyps now so it won't be long). Also have got a nice looking acro green with purple polyps that is already fragged that I could swap but its a large frag and I would look for the same in swap. You looking for anything in particular. A friend has some green rics posted. he has a large rock of orange and white with green mouths but it would be costly the ric formation on it is about 5-6 inches in diameter, he was also still undecided if he would sell it. by the way I picked up the zoos when I got the cap what you think?

Allen after I posted about swapping I rememberd that I am staying saturday night and most of sunday in Jasper. I would not want to keep any frags out of a tank for that long. Thanks for the offer. I would like a frag of your blue rim monti, but we will have to set up another time to trade. What kind of lighting is over the Carbon Hill tank?
