Cardinal Babies on the way again, how to catch them

OK, 2nd time in 2 months. I tried several time catching him about 2 months ago with no luck, so my other fish got a fresh meal. I would like to try again. Does anyone have any good methods to catching the male cardinal? I have a 120gal with about 200lbs of LR, so there are lots of places for him to hide and I'd rather not pull my LR to catch him. It just doesn't seem worth it to me. I am running out of time again (can see fish in his mouth).

Thanks
Pete

Pete, if you know where he sleeps and its out in the open, black out the tank with blanket or something, then after a while turn your room lights off, take off the blanket & switch on the tank lights. This should stun him for 30 seconds of so & hopefully give you time to net him. Good luck.

I use an urchin in my bangaii tank to help round up most the babies for me, than I use a plain turkey baster I got from the dollar store. wide enough end to suck up many babies at once, takes a couple reversed squirts and I got em all right where I want em.

My first attempt was just using a small brine net, but after I accidental squished a baby, I had to rethink my plan.

Hi I have a Question I had my Spotted Cardinalfish spwan the other night I got a few a the fry but don't know what to feed them. I had them in a 5 gal tank with air stone greenwater and Rotifers. That did not work they died after 3 days. Any ideas how to keep my next batch alive would help.

Thanks
