Care For Mcchullochi

Hello all,

I just bought 2 small Mcchullochi clowns from a fellow reefer here.
What is the best care for them? Right now they are in a 2 feet x 2 feet x 6 inches tank (this tank is 12" but I just keep 6" water so the clown will not jump over) with some tricolor anemones.

I want to build a good tank for them, hopping they will pair and spawn someday.
Any helps/advices would be appteciated.

I've never kept them myself, but due to their natural distribution, I assume they appreciate cooler temperatures. I believe they are naturally found in E. quadricolor as well.

no different than any other tomato complex, yours are F2 so would not even matter on the temperature.

Just watch for aggression , the large one might kill the small one

Congrats and they look better in your tank atleast from the photo. From your photo using egg crate is a good idea. Have you try putting them together yet and see how they act? They came from a 4x2 tank so the little one had plenty of room to escape but in the 24x24 its harder. Once they are established/bonded the 24x24 should be fine. Temp shouldn't matter too much (74-80). RBTA is their natural host but I have them in with Ritteri and they seem to like it. They will likely bond once he the bigger one becomes a female but she will always insert the dominance but likely not do too much damage as a female. Good luck

Thanks Ray. They are healthy and eat flake food now, which I prefer. They can
co-exist with a little bid of chasing but I want to seperate them for a month or so.
Thanks again
