What's up reefers. Unfortunately I don't bring good news, I would like to warn you of a store in cotati selling corals with a dino infestation. About a month ago I had bought a coral from what looked like a clean tank. About a week later I encountered dinoflagellates on my sand bed and some corals. I quickly researched what the hell was all over my sand. I proceeded to do a 4 day black out and siphoned the sand twice after the blackout. I have not done a water change in 3 weeks and have my lights running at 5%. So far so good with no dino sighting. Only time will tell.

I walked into Aqua Terra aka Fish Pros today and this is what I encountered. And yes these are for sale! Unfortunately the owner wasn't at the store at the time to talk too, this is just a friendly reminder to be careful with where you get corals from, a dip will not protect you from everything. Take note newer reefers like I am myself and learn from my mistake. Cheers [emoji482]

Sorry to hear, think we've all gotten a coral or two that brought something bad into our tank.
If you still end up with dino, read about removing it with H202. It worked great for me a few years ago.

I Totally agree, but to still advertise and sell corals out of that tank is still not ok. Bad business move.

Yes I have read mixed reviews on H202, some have had success with it and a lot have not. I think it depends on how bad the Dino has gotten and how fast the person took action to try to get rid of it. Fortunately I only had it in my tank for a week before I did the steps listed above. Rite now I'm on day 4 with no sighting. Bumped up the the output on the lights a little more this morning. Fingers crossed🤞

If I did this post would be non existent. Doesn't change the fact that these guys shouldn't be selling [profanity] like this. Luckily I don't have dino anymore.

Qt is very important and everybody should have a qt set up, I know what you're getting at. Yes this is my fault for not taking the right measures but only to an extent.

I would say that the store should probably quarantine before they sell anything, rather than trying to turn money over faster and asking for the highest prices for corals in california.

I take it that Hella_reef does not know who coralfarmer is? Meet James, aka coralfarmer aka owner of Aqua Terra, but Aqua Terra is not FishPros.
