CaribSea Coraline Aquarium Gravel

Hello reefers.
I have been researching large size substrate for my SPS tank with heavy flow. Right now I have SS sand there (Tropic Eden reef grade). However, with the tunze and ecotech, there are some spots with no sand. I am thinking of adding more coarse sand to prevent these bald spot and found this Caribsea coralline gravel.
Has any body used this sand without any phosphate problem since I don't want this to browning my SPS?

Thanks in advance...

I don' t quite understand your question. I have used Caribsea products for years (like 20) and a lot of different ones. They all seem to be great.

My concern is if this large size grain substrate is going to release bound phosphate into the aquarium once there.

thanks

I am sorry. I have never heard of this before so I can't comment on it. I have never seen a spike after putting sand in my tank.

I don't think it should cause a problem. Rinse it well and fill a ziplock back with it. put the back in the tank at the bottom where you want to have the new sand and release it out of the bag. I find using it this way minimizes how much dust rises in the tank. Turn off your flow also while doing it and give it some time to settle first.
