I would like some input what is best to feed an orange carnation coral, and if anybody has had much success with this particular corals. Thanks in advance!:D

No one knows yet. Some Scleronephthya seem to feed on phytoplankton, but even that will vary species to species. Otherwise, there is speculation that Dendros and Scleros use food sources ranging from microplankton, to bacteria, to direct chemical absorption; with any given species being very particular about which of these methods (if any) it can use. Unfortunatly, this is the main reason that "carnation corals" die 99.999% of the time in the hobby.

It will stay alive for A WHILE with regular feedings of phytoplankton and detritus. If the coral is fully inflating and you see it's polyps out, then there is hope. It pretty much needs a constant flow of plankton to live. I hope it lives a while for ya, but don't expect anything more than a year AT MOST.

Thanks for the info. This is the first time I have purchased something that I wasn't informed on. This is also the first time that I have listened to what the LFS said. You know that little voice in your head....well, I didn't listen. NEVER AGAIN!!! It has been there for a few months, so if you are right then I will be lucky to have it till fall. I am so not happy. :(
