Carpet + 25" Water Depth - MH = ???

Question:
What fixture would you guys suggest if I wanted to keep a carpet anemone in a tank that is 25" high, but do it without metal halide.

I need a fixture because I really can't make my own hood and I want an open top so no canopy or ghetto jobs.

At all feasible?

Tank is 36" long.

I haven't been able to find any good T5 fixtures. The few that get good reviews all are lacking splash screens and cooling which means more ghetto rigging.

I was looking at the dual 250w w/ T5, but I've never owned anything but PC before and maybe people exagerate the heat and evap issue with MH a bit, but I don't know.

But the heat issue is really a problem for me since this is going to be in my bed room. Not to mention the electric bill.

Do you have a good tier5 fixture in mind? I'm not 100% against a canopy and modding my own, it's just not something I want for aesthetic reasons.

Sunlight Supply Tek T5 is a good t5 light. Each bulb has it's own individual reflector. I have kept rbta anemones thriving under it.
I also have mh lights and I do like them better but the tek is a great t5 light.

what about the clip on 70 watt mh viper.

Todd, I don't know what kind of anemone I want. I just know carpets are sand based and pretty demanding so I figured if I said it was for a carpet I'd get suggestions for a nice versatile light that I could keep just about anything under :)

Since it's my first anemone I'd probably go with a rbta. But to be honest, I don't like how when most rbtas get bigger their body looks kind of bare. I like the nice tentacled look of anemones and only the ritteri looked to keep that look?

Sebae also look to keep that look but I've never seen a healthy sebae anemone local. They're all quite heavily bleached.

Not all carpets are sand dwelling, Haddonis are, but Gigantea can be found both on the sand and on the rocks.

Think a BTA ( any color morph ) would be your best bet. I didn't think mine looked all that bare before I sold it. It was 15"+ inches, and was pretty full.
