Carpet Anemone Clarifying Questions

Hi All,

I am considering getting a carpet anemone for my pair of black ocellaris clowns. I have been doing a fair amount of reading and want to make sure I have it all straight.

S. Haddoni is easier to keep, does not get as large but much more prone to eating fish and shrimp.

S. Gigantea is more difficult to keep, gets considerably larger but is less prone to eating fish.

Does is sound fairly accurate?

Now the next part, I really want to get a blue carpet. Bright blue, not the light sky/baby blue coloration. Does the S. Gigantea come in this color? How possible is it to find one this color?

Thanks!

yeah, you got it right. Finding a blue haddoni could take years and alot of $$$$, especially since your in holland. I would keep an eye out on www.michiganreefers.com unless you want to order one online.

Which tank is this going in?

Actually the gigantea is the smaller/smallest.
the hadoni can easily go 24"+, but the gigantea usually maxes out at 20" .

A colorful hadoni is much easier to find than a colorful gigantea, but there are some very colorful$$ giganteas too
