carpet anemone = difficult?

Hi I am in the process of ordering a blue carpet anemone and trading in my RBTA for partial credit and I was wondering what makes these things so hard to take care of (every on-line store lists them as "difficult") aside from the fact that they have more of a potent sting? Any help/advice would be appreciated. I want to house this guy as best as I can.

Im thinking that you are getting a haddoni blue is that wright? Asides from not shipping well!!!!!!!! They dont acclamate very well and are real sencitive to temp swings, salinity change to name a few. Not to mention there agression with other tank mates!

I agree with you Charlie, I have a Blue that really is not that much of a problem until my water conditons get bad and he decides to climb the walls. Just got a new Green Haddoni today.

Research a bit about the size it will reach, I understand they grow large, it might be borderline for your 60 gal but may not be suitable for the nano.

It depends on the nem in question. I would not advise ordering on online. You could get lucky, but I don't like the risk for the money you'd pay on a nem sight unseen. If you can get a 14 day warranty I'd think about it. Otherwise I'd advise looking for one at the LFS that's fully inflated with a tight mouth.

Oh, and hold onto the BTA just in case the haddoni dies. Better to have one live BTA than one dead haddoni.

yeah, I'll probably hold off on the carpet for my 28 then (they are beautiful suckers though aren't they). thanks for all the input.

If possible get a haddoni...much easier to take care of than gigantea. Just be careful when getting these shipped...some ship poorly.
