carpet anemone

i have had my carpet anemone for 7 yrs, He has been home to my clowns and he is bigger than a baskest ball, How long do they live, and why does my fish in my tank no better to go there, and new fish r not so smart?

:lol: The same thing happens with my carpet. I have found that if you disturb the carpet, causing it to withdraw under the rocks when you introduce new fish, the survival rate goes way up. I think new fish are just confused. Once they get acquainted with their new surroundings they seem to avoid the carpet.
