Carpet anemones in barebottom tanks?

Looking for any experiences for putting in carpet nems, haddonis or gigantics in barebottom tanks.

Is it possible?
Is it a good idea?

Thanks

Barebottom won't matter at all to a gigantea sine they live on the rock. Barebottom should not ever be an option for the sandbed-dwelling haddoni unless you plan to provide a sand container (pvc pipe, etc) of some type. But even then I wouldn't recommend it.

After keeping a haddoni for a few years now, I can tell you they do need at least 4 inches of substrate to sink their boot in.

Tried one (not sure which kind) not long ago. Even bought a 4" cylindrical glass vase from Michaels. Filled it with sand. It seemed to work for a while, than one day it was the point of no return. I have two jumbo Darwin's that ravished it though. Not sure which was the culprit. Probably wouldn't try it again.
