i aquired a small carpet pretty much for free.. the only problem is that it has two small tears in the bottom of its pedal(foot).. im just wondering what suggestons you all may have as far as what should i do?? i do not want to put it in my display for the fact that if it were to die that would be bad.. i can setup a small QT for it, with pc lighting and do small WC to keep up on water quality.. it is extremely sticky, mouth closed.. i know they have been propogated successfully, and are somewhat hardy as far as anemones go.. i had the hopes that the small cuts may heal(longshot maybe).. i do see some small strings coming out though(cuts, not mouth).. its a S. Haddoni.. i know lots about anemones and have a good idea what to do, but its always good to hear other thoughts as well.. just looking for suggestions..thanks..

I have had BTA's recover quite quickly (a day or two) when I have poked holes in the bottoms of their feet when trying to remove them from rocks. If it is healthy from the start, it should recover.

You try to find a plastic colander(spaghetti strainer) and float the anemone in the colander in your main tank. The lighting and water quality will be better there.

it was still acclimating and actually ate a small piece of silverside.. im just nervous to put it in my display, mouth is slightly open now but it is still acclimating.. i have not had too much first hand experience with carpets(its really sticky) its not as sticky as my H. Mag but its up there.. ive had H. Crispa's, E. Quad., i have my H. Magnifica, and neon green M. Doreensis.. it came from a IMO subpar lit VHO tank, i have a 250 SE MH do you think floating it in this lighting would be a good idea?? i didnt want to stress it with too much light..thanks..

You could put some screening over the top and/or anchor the colander in the corner of the aquarium.

well the anemone has attached its foot under a rock/sand.. it has also eaten two days in a row so thats good.. what type of clown should i get to host it?? i was thinking a A. Akallopisos, i know its not a natural host for this clown but they have one at a LFS and i really like the yellow belly and fins..any ideas for me??

I really like akallopisos too, but I've never kept one so I have no idea how picky they are in choosing an anemone. My sandarcinos accepted a haddoni, if that helps at all.
For the most part anything from the clarki, polynmus or tomato complexes are pretty much sure bets.

i have kept clowns from each of those complexes that you have mentioned, i have not had any from the skunk complex yet though.. i actually can get my hands on a pair of A. Perideraion for very very cheap..like ridiculously cheap.. the female is 3in, and the male is about 2.75.. what size min. tank for these two would you suggest as i would need another tank for them, they would be with the carpet.. they would be the only fish.. also i havent been able to get a look at the foot of the carpet, its planted behind some rocks, should i worry about it or not.. it seems ok mouth closed very sticky, eats, and reacts to light normally..what do you think??
