Carpet Question

Hello,

so I have a carpet nem and last few days he has been moving around the base of the rock. I have been told that a happy nem won't move. I was in a spot for along time in front of the rock but last week he has circled around the base of it. Everything looks good in the tank...not sure what else would cause the change. The only thing I can think of is food..? I feed the fish a flake food made by aquadine....also feed them assorted frozen food. Should I be doing / feed the carpet something else..? I also have a LT that is near the carpet that has been in the same place for awhile now. No issues with it. The carpet just looks like it is trying to get farther under the rock.

thanks for any info

I am not 100% but I think it is a haddon carpet. it is green in color and pet co sells them alot if I am not mistaken

It's a Haddoni. They move around. They like to get under base of reef.

Feed him very small "pea size" pieces of frozen seafood medley from local grocery store. About $3.00 for a 1 Lb bag.

No silversides!

Good luck.

heres a pic...sitting right next to my lt. at the moment. both seem to be doing good

question....do you feed it that amount that you have in the pic..? also how do you feed it and is it ok for the fish to eat that as well. I know my fish will come and nip at it when I try to put in the tank. and how do you target feed that size of food..? thank you

also what is silverside..? another type of food..?

Not to hijack, but I was going to post a question about my carpet as well.Mine is moving around the base of its rock as well. Does yours also look like its "hiding" under the sand?

not really hiding. just moving a lot. when I got done bbqing last night it had made its way almost to the other side of the tank...it now is sitting in up against the front of the tank. I hate when this thing moves...I always think I am going to come home and my rock work is going to be all jacked up. Is yours open up during the day..?

No that amount of food is for several anemones.

Feed him 1-2 small pieces a week, or less if you do not want him to get big.

You target feed the mouth with any reef tongs. I personally use a pair of Eheim.

A silverside is a fish they sell for food. They are not good for anemones due to contamination reasons.

Yes, the fish can eat it too.

BTW, if that NEM is deflated...just treat him for about a week.

Just about any nem will eat that seafood blend. I fed it to maxi mini's, sebaes, RBTA's, & carpets...all loved it.
