Unfortunately last week our female clownfish, who we'd had for 4 years, decided to leap from the tank. Needless to say she has gone to the great ocean in the sky as a result. The male is still going strong albeit a bit less outgoing than before. We want to get him a new friend, is it best to just add a juvenile single fish either smaller or of a similar size, likely still male or undecided sex (probably not smaller tbh as our bangaii cardinal will prob try and eat it), or a larger one which may already have become female?
