Carpet wont anchor down

My blue Haddoni pulled his foot from the sand a few weeks ago and has not anchored back down! When this happen a few weeks ago i think the problem was a cucumber may have died so i know there was some problems w/ ammonia! I have done 3 water changes 25 gall ea and have sense added a red carpet and he looks awesome still needs to find the sand has foot on some rock about a couple of in form sand. They have both accepted food in the last week and he does seem to have hold on a rock just want to be cautious as possible! If you see something that I'm not testing for please tell me i know for sure mag. but if there anything else just tell me! I test at least once a week here's my last results;ph 7.9

Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Alk 10 kh
Temp 78.9
Salt 1.25

When I first got my Haddoni I dug him a hole in the sand up against a rock and put his foot in it then covered it up and he stayed there for months.. Just a thought. Weeks isn't good.
