Catalina Goby

Hey,

I am looking to buy another fish and i dont want anything big that carries along a huge bio-load. I currently have

kole tang
flame angel
true perc and occelaris
green clown goby
yellow watchman goby

these fish are all peace-ful and perfectly healty. the last fish added was the yellow watchman goby about 1 1/2 months ago.

i was searching around and i would like to keep 1-2 more fish(gobies or blennies..something small) and i found the catalina goby. They have them in stock on live aquaria and it seems like a great fish with loads of personality. do you guys think he will fit into the bunch?

any other suggestions of other fish is great as well!

thanks

thanks vinny...ive been reading that they can tolerate the tropical water temp. but they prefer anywhere from 65-72 degrees and i just cant have a 69 degree reef tank!

do you think a copper band butterfly would be pushing it? or should i just stay with a couple more small gobies?

A firefish or a purple firefish would look nice. Also some of the mellower dottybacks like an orchid or neon dotty or a royal gramma would work. Bar gobies are nice for a little mid water action.

The Catalina Gobies, while nice, just shouldn't be sold for tropical tanks. The only last a few months in a tropical set up :(

They had some firefish and purple firefish at aquahut the other day. I bought one and love it. Very mellow, very personable, very nice looking.

I also have a bar goby I picked up. I may be looking for a home for it if you want. $5

thanks guys, yea i was thinking a gramma. i was also thinking of a black-cap basslet if i could ever find one in petswarehouse or something.

I expect that pretty much any LFS will order a fish for you. I'm sure that PW would do so if it's available to them.
I know that I have seen chalk and tobacco basslets at Fishy, it couldn't hurt to make a phone call or two ;)

One other thing, I'm not sure about the black caps, but tobacco and chalk basslets are good jumpers, and they like to surf ;)

carpet surfing...

would a royal gramma and black-cap basslet get along...i ask because they are both basslets and im not sure if the species should be together?

:(

well i think i would be going with the gramma then. anyone have a suggestion of one more smallish fish?
