my osmosis system has a t valve drain after the second chamber that's meant for draining catalytic carbon however i'm wondering if catalytic carbon is still used anymore? i'm thinking of using that t valve drain for tds creep instead.

yes its still used... more so now with chloramines becoming used more.. In general... catalytic carbon typically works better than carbon blocks for that..

bulk reef supply stopped making their reverse osmosis sytems with a catalytic chamber since 2013. now they label all their 2nd and 3rd chambers carbon blocks. why do you think they switched it up?

i have their old osmosis system and the 2nd chamber is labeled catalytic carbon

now all their new systems label the 2nd and 3rd chambers carbon blocks
