catch ich breakout before it happens?

Hello,

This is probably a dumb question. We introduced a blue tang 4 days ago exactly to our tank from a very reputable LFS that assured us she had been quarantined properly already and doing so again would be unnecessary stress.

4 days in, she has what appears to be 4 pin head size bumps (not white yet) on her skin. I haven't seen her rub, but I'm worried.

My question is whether it is possible that pulling her out now before the bumps get white and "rupture", could we at least save the tank from infestation.

thanks for any input on that.

This is the exact reason why you don't trust nobody but yourself when it comes to quarantining. Hard to say it doesn't sound like ich to me. Could be Lympho also. How big are the bumps?

did you happen to ask what "quarantined properly" exactly entailed?

And any new additions within the 3wk cp or 30 day copper period messes up the QT protocol. Being a lfs, they probably have new fish coming in weekly at least. Introducing new parasites/pathogens/bacteria etc every week
