Best way to catch a peppermint shrimp?

I have heard of the bottle trick. However, my question is this...do you cut the top of the bottle off and put some food in there and just lay it in there with bottom side of the bottle untouched, cause when people say inverted, I'm thinking of an upside down soda bottle with the bottom cut out?

You can do it either way. It really depends on the size of the animal you want to get out. The basic idea is a container that the shrimp/worm/whatever will enter that's large enough for you to easily grab before the animal can get out of the open end. Some people tie a string around the open end & drape it over the side of the tank so they can easily yank it out once the animal is at the closed end.

Shrimp scoot backwards when threatened. Just put the net behind him and chase him into it with your hand or whatever.
