Catching Copepods

What mesh size do I need to scoop up copepods and where can one get that mesh size?

I have a culture of copepods that's growing and I want to start transfering some to my main tank and fuge. I currently use a pipette and coffee filter. The pipette doesn't seem efficient as I seem to only get one or two pods sucked up with a disprportionately large amount of water and then I'm still stuck with trying not to add the culture water to the main tank. The coffee filter is a real pain because I don't have anything to hold it open with and it takes along time to drain especially when it get's clog with detritus.

Get a brine shrimp net. They are used for catching newly hatched nauplii so should be fine enough to catch copepods.

id say get a sponge dip it in ur culture and let it sit for 2 or 3 days the pods are surely gonna go in it then put it in ur tank and just shake

If you can, get a piece of chaeto macroalgae and put it in your culture tank...The pods will flock to it like a magnet... periodically just gently lift the chaeto out (over a jar or bowl) - swish the pods off in saltwater and transfer them to your display tank. when you transfer them, do it in the dark and with pumps off for at least 30 minutes - will give pods time to transfer to your LR or sandbed...

Thanks. Think I'll try the chaeto or the sponge before going to look for a brine shrimp net.
