I'v got a nice big ugly crab in my tank i watched it grab my jawfish yesterday
he ripped off one of his fins before i could get him to let go and idea on how i can remove this abomination?

you can try putting a baited glass in your tank, leaning up against the crab's hiding place/rockwork. if you're lucky, the crab will go for the bait in the glass and then be unable to climb up the glass walls and be stuck.

a chopstick through the shell is another good way to "catch" crabs. i've still got 3 gorilla and 1 huge mithrax crab hiding in my tank...

I was attracted by the title of your thread. I thought this was a thread about a "medical problem".

Here's a funny story for ya. I heard on the radio a guy who didn't know why his head itched and his hair was falling out. They ask questions and find out that he had crabs and was scratching his head. Friggin idiot. :bum:

Ive speared several with a screw driver. If its a smaller crab, ive heard of people having good results with plastic bottles. Unscrew the cap, Cut the bottle in half, drop in a shrimp or other large hunk of bait, flip the top half of the bottle upside down and insert it into the bottom half.

Cheap homemade crab pot.

If it is possible to find his favorte rock of choice and it won't require a ton of moving in your rockwork, you could place the rock in your sump or a seperate tank. He will come out of it at night grab him then.

And if you are up for revenge for your lost fish and have a friend or lfs with triggers. Drop him in their tanks. :smokin:
