Caught a Tiny Mantis Shrinp

SINNERMF

New member
I caught a tiny Mantis Shrinp in my tank the other day. I have been trying to figure out what it will eat. It is about the size of a small mysis shrimp, the guy at the LFS told me it would eat frozen Brine shrinp, and well that didn't work. Would live Mysis work? If anyone has any clue what to do please let me know. Thanks,
Mike

Well the live mysis didn't work, if i can find my vile of Brine Shrinp eggs I'll hatch some tonight. If I can get my digital camera to focus in small enough I'll post a pic of it.

sound like a amphiopod (spelling?) to me, basically its a small "bug" that will do nothing but molt alot... I have about 1000 in my tank, there kinda cool I guess, they help control algae and thats about it.

Well when it comes out of it little "hide out" it has mantis looking apendages on t he front of the body. What does this thing you describe look like? Dont know if it makes a diference but it moves really fast too.

I looked at your link, and I have many of these amphipods in my tank of which I know what they are. However what I captured does not resemble any of the specimens pictured on that web site.
Any how the specimen is now deceased
