caught the beast

i finally caught the mantis that was in my tank. he ate my female black ocellaris but he's out now, thank goodness. it took all my willpower not to flush him. i have never been so mad at a creature. i'm going to see if anyone wants him.. i believe he is a ternatensis.

I was just thinking about setting up a small mantis tank. If you do not get a taker I would like it.

yeah he was in the first piece of live rock i ever bought... haha. has been causing death and destruction ever since.

G. ternatensis male, I have never seen a hitch hiker of that species before. And a beautiful specimen to boot.

this thing will need a 20g tank as an adult (fyi to all you keepers out there, this particular guy can potentially damage glass that is any thinner) they pack a pretty good wallop, but don't achieve the size of the peacock. 2nd largest of the smashers you will find in the hobby though.

ok, sold him... thanks for all the replies. as for how i got him out, i smashed the rock he was in with a sledgehammer when i moved my tank. little bugger.... i'm glad he found a good home though. he did spend a couple days in a tupperware on my desk as i taunted him. muahahaha. ok.
