I know that Caulerpa releases toxins when it goes sexual but does it also release toxins when its is pruned? I remeber reading something to that effect from Anthony Calfo but I cant find it now. It makes sense becuase if something is storing toxins when the stem/structure of that object or algae in this case is broken the toxins it is storing would be leaked out or releazsed into the water.
I dont have any experience with pruning Caulerpa so I am not sure If you could carefuly prune it without breaking any part of Caulerpa itself there by solving the problem.
Any input would be helpful
