Caulerpa Toxins

I know that Caulerpa releases toxins when it goes sexual but does it also release toxins when its is pruned? I remeber reading something to that effect from Anthony Calfo but I cant find it now. It makes sense becuase if something is storing toxins when the stem/structure of that object or algae in this case is broken the toxins it is storing would be leaked out or releazsed into the water.

I dont have any experience with pruning Caulerpa so I am not sure If you could carefuly prune it without breaking any part of Caulerpa itself there by solving the problem.

Any input would be helpful

Run carbon when you prune. It's at least some help. It's going to leak when broken, snipped, nipped or ripped.

Thanks,

I'm using an Algae Turf Scrubber so carbon is going to be must anyway. Its going to go in my display so I think small doses accompanied by water changes and frequent carbon use everything should be fine.

I might look for another macro to go in the display but the feather caulerpa looks awesome
