I have what looks like burnt tips, missing flesh, not white new growth. The thing is my alk has stayed a constant 8dkh for months, calcium has slowly crept up to 550 from 450, mag around 1350ppm. No new lights or bulbs added or lowered. What are the other usual causes?

are you running a calcium reactor?

No new fish, I have a red sea sailfin, niger trigger, tail spot blenny, dragonette.
No cal reactor, using 2part automated dosing.

sodium bicarb and calcium chloride. I do not measure PH cause ph is dependent on KH and co2 levels, I know my kh and do not run co2 since I do not us a reactor.

not entirely true.
Sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) will cause a slight pH drop when added.

I suggest checking your system's pH :)
