CBB question

I have a 260G mix reef + sump.

Trying to battle a huge aiptasia infestation i added a mated filefish, and all he´s been doing is living rent free ... he dosen´t work for what it was intended.

My LFS just got a couple CBB ... all XL size.
I´m not from the US so they don´t come in that often ...

What do you guys think ? Should i go for it ?
My other fish are:
- Blue Tang
- Yellow tang
- Scopas tang
- Xanthurum tang
- Desjardini tang
- couple of gobies
- mated filefish

Thanks

CBBs are 50/50 when it comes to eating aiptasia. If it's a fish you want then go for it. Have you tried peppermint shrimp?

My yellow tang didn't appreciate me adding a CBB. Went after it pretty quick. If you can, find yourself an Australian CBB, been known to do better long term. Like monkeyfish said, 50/50 on aiptasia. I would try peppermint shrimp first as well if aiptasias are your main reason for wanting the CBB. good luck!

Thanks guys ... being at the end of the world, what we can get here is very limited.
I got 2 pepermint shrimps about 8 months ago ... but nothing !! Then i found out they were from California ...

I didn´t buy the CBB today, cause the LFS guy told me he hasn´t seen him eat at all. So will wait for the filefish to start hetting hungry, and will help him a little bit with some aiptasia X from Red Sea.

Thanks once again

I agree, the yellow tang will be hostile. And the odds of the CBB eating aiptasia is at best 50/50.

Unfortunately, fish that are collected as larger adults tend to adapt poorly and some never eat.

Thank god i started to migrate into SPS while ago ... the matted filefish eat all my remaining zoas !!

Anybody heard something like this ? I don´t mind, if he start eating aiptasia now ... Will see in a couple of weeks
