This is a very sweet system. I can't wait to see more pictures. I loved seeing the building process of the tank, stand, and location. When you have to use a crane to move a tank, you know you have a nice size tank.
When do you think you will be putting water in it? Looking at the drawings you have of the rock scaping, it will look really sweet.
Thank you for sharing, I'll be tagging along now.

I've been following this one in eager anticipation! I like how it is going slow though, it means thought and time are being put into doing it right without succumbing to forum peer pressure. That being said could you just stick a gold fish within his bowl inside the tank and take a pic so we can all imagine how tricked out this tank is gonna be?! Maybe put a mermaid in for the time being? :D

Hello Arnar,

please can you tell whats the wording on the paper atached o the tank....?

thanks and regards

Markus

you going to dimm the city's light when you power on all the lights needed for this beast:eek1: :D

Some minor updates to keep you up to date ;)

These are 2" pipes coming from the tank and into the fish room. I will use two of them for the overflow and the third is a backup/spare.

Today they started finishing the floors where the tank is and hopefully soon they will close up the flooring in the fish room.

MarkusII was asking what the signs on the tank said. I wrote "Please do not put anything up against the aquarium" and I also got it translated into polish since there are a few working there as well.

More soon

Amazing set up so far. Just wondering about the tank. In the construction photos, it shows that it was built upon two layers of wood, (plywood) and the top layer seems to be integral to the tank. Is this the case? I noticed that when the tank was slid into position, one layer was effectively left behind but it seemed like the topmost layer is still present. Looking forward to the progress updates.

Yes there is a thin plywood under the tank. That way nothing gets between the glass and the stand.

just wondering......... the way the pics look the waters gonna overflow in the those pipes which are laying level then the water is gonna come up ?

Things are coming together now. They have finished the flooring in the main room but I am still waiting for the fishroom to be finished so I can start the plumbing.

Today I opened the crate with the sump and equipment. What do you think... Is this a good picture for the Christmas card ? :D
