Now that we are in cycle mode I will be putting some more focus on the livestock.

I would really like to hear some of your opinions on what fish you think would fit well with my non hostile/coral enviroment.

I do have some ideas of my own but I always like input from others as well.

If you had 2000 gallons. What would you like to have ? :D

wow just finished reading this thread, and as pretty much any one have said, congratulations and a wonderful setup indeed!

as far as stocking goes, its late and i should go to bed but some things come to mind:

- a blue spotted sting ray?!??! you can call it eve :D

- you definitely need large schools, perhaps 2 - anthias and chromis?

- i would definitely get a bunch of tangs- achilles for sure

- i was just reading about someone succesfully housing garden eels, why not?

- i would also get tons of different gobies

- an anemone island or two with different clowns, including black

- also, thinking about CUC yet, with that size you would need a CUA - clean up ARMY!

I would think you'd enjoy a few wrasses

- Filamented Flasher Wrasse (pick one they all look nice)
- Marble Wrasse
- Sohal Tang
- Several Fairy Wrasses

I agree with Thrischmann.........

Large school of Anthias

I am a huge fn of Blue-eyed cardinals and a large group of those shoaling in one place is just amazing.....

Maybe a large harem of pearly jawfish

And the tangs.......

I can only dream of stocking that tank........Good Luck

Definatly some get like 8 maderine dragonets and like 40 chromis

I wouldn't put any of the manderine dragonets in such a new system, they require a lot of pods and other small bugs. There is luck with getting them to eat prepared food over time but they need to have lots of their required food while they learn that the prepared foods are good and easy to come by.IMO

System is looking very nice. Keep up the great work and up-dates with pictures.

Maybe some different varieties of Leopard Wrasses. They are beautiful and very peaceful fish, especially the Splendid Leopard. This is an awesome tank!

non hostile/coral enviroment

Pay attention guys. This is very specific in terms of what CCP's tank philosophy is. My question is do you want to go with a Japanese inspired "Zen" reef, or have some larger fish?

Lots of small fish schooling around a reef:

Larger but fewer fish:

Tangs, detrivores will help keep the tank clean without the downside of "cleaner crews", and I have a fascination with wrasses. BUT, as the wrasses grow, they will often clean out your cleanup crew, and especially any ornamental shrimp. Then you have no predation for parasites, and might have to add cleaner wrasses and a CBB like me. The cleaner wrasses harrass the fish endlessly and the CBB WILL eat every friggin' feather worm in your tank.

Clowns can be a MAJOR PITA, so don't take that decision lightly.

For a primarily softie tank, that cpfarm tank is stunning. I like the plentiful little apagons in the background. Woulda looked cooler with a group of anthias. but besides that, its awesome looking. I personally like the smaller fish, with a couple larger showcased fish.

if it were my tank i would have to add lots of tangs.

Very few tanks would I ever recommend this, but I like that idea as well. Buy nori sheets by the pallet ;)
