CCP's 2000 gallon Deltec reef tank

I'm basically wondering whether to simply put sand in the bottom and stick plastic tubes or build a few level egg crate structure.

I would go with an egg-crate structure and leave it bare-bottom, makes maintenance easier.

Things are still going well. Finally installed my R-Osmozis unit and hooked that up to the Kalkwasser stirrer. Also just placed an order for the Apex controller which should hopefully arrive soon.

Also getting new pumps which I will post about when they get here

very nice Arnar, regarding your propagation tank I'd suggest black egg crate (white tends to grow algae) built so you can remove sections in block for easy cleaning and reaching for frags that have fallen to the bottom, and a yellow tang or equivalent algae eater

Elliot: That is a great suggestion. I already put in a white one in one of the tanks and already it's starting to look like an algae propagation going on there Don't know if I can even buy black ones here in Iceland.

I still have it but it is not in the tank at the moment. It is a Canon VB-C300 and it has built in web server which allows you to control it via webpage.

Yay! I just received my new stream pumps. Some of the old ones are almost 10 year old so it's time for an upgrade/new generation.

I must say that the Masterstream pumps are a bit bigger than I thought they were even though I knew the measurements. They certainly look smaller in the picture on Tunze's website

Total of 212 thousand liters per hour!

The new Tunze Turbelle masterstream 6508's are finally in the tank. :celeb1:

I put them next to the black overflow boxes so they would not stick out as much. They are quite large

I'll do a video soon.
