Centropyge Hybrid or Morph??

It seems that segrest farms offers the panda heladi variant as its also on there stock list but with no pictures.

I believe there is still dna testing occuring (might be completed) and that official naming has not yet occured- I could be wrong.

Very cool though, it would be intersting to see what happens with the price after the "official" name and announcement is made...you might have something that will jump considerably in price...

I'm hoping they make it thru QT. I might be dealing with multiple infections. I have to see what happens after prazi treatment.

I must have watched that video a dozen times now... I just don't see anything like a heraldi mouth shape to the fish

Im not sure of the heraldi variant idea either. Just wait till I get to my computer and post the stills I took. I've got great shots of the mouth and face. The mouth is blue-ish purple along with the forehead.

The one angel is quite photogenic. The other hides most of the time. I need to analyze the other for infection.

The photos will show much more detail. I'll post them shortly.

This picture had more definition but I had to make it much much smaller than it originally was Sooooooo it lost some of that definition.

I know some of my previous pics were out of focus which really doesn't help anybody ID the important things. So I'm gonna bust out the big guns and gets some real photos of these fishes.

Yeah, that looks to me like the "rasping" mouth of a coral beauty type centropyge, not the "beak" of a heraldi...

Is needle use, during decompression, often seen as a bruise on the fishes side?

As expected, I lost one over night. Without anyone's guidance or advice I did my own research and decided to treat with a sulfa based antibacterial today because the remaining healthier fish's Popeye on one side got much worse.

I'm still wondering if the bruising I saw on both fish in the same spot could have been from using a needle to decompress the fish?? If so that would lead to a bacterial infection I believe hence my med of choice.

The angel reacted to food last night, but did not eat.

Continuing with the Sulfa medication, after one day the eyes and fins look better. But after more testing, it still seems blind, maybe not completely because it did react to the presence of a stimulus but who knows if that was detected by its Lateral Line or if it really was seeing something. :-(
