Centropyge interrupta & Centropyge multicolor paired up and spawning

I don't like that. I prefer to build pairs so every time I buy two fish. This what happens here is the first time for me. So I have to catch the fish to separate.

Also the interrupta is tiny I thought and not adult.

To me, this emphasizes the importance to keep fish in pairs whenever possible. The drive to reproduce is so strong that they rather pair up with a different species than be alone... You also see this in the wild and it is one of the driving forces in hybridization.

Is it hard to add centropyge after you have one established? I always worry about aggression.
