They are only collected around Cocos and Christmas Islands and hence are uncommonly available. Great fish, however, albeit a bit on the tough side.

Patience is the key. I know had my pair on special order for some time.

Btw the pair is doing great. Loving life. Actually I'm not sure but I believe they show spawning behavior at night.

No you didn't but it seems to me that when I see black tangs show back up or come "in season" if you will that Jocs are also available. march and april seem to be when blacks and jocs start popping up

Just wanted to provide an update on my pair. They are both living and hardy as ever. I know some have asked about them and coral. I don't have much coral but they haven't touched anything. Sorry for the pic but getting them together is tough.

Finally got a 2.5 inch in June from DD. In the final days of qt. Lot's of personality and fearless. It is sharing the qt with 3 inch purple tang and doesn't take any crap from it.

They won't even my 1/2 an inch one wouldn't take crap from anyone. Nice choice in a tang too.

Loved my purple before I replaced it with my gem.
