Hello,
The Bimac is doing great! This week it has been eating shrimp from my hand. Usually It will grab the shrimp from my hand, but yesterday it jumped up on my hand and wouldn't let go. I was concerned of it mistaking one of my fingers for its lunch, but it didn't. Wow that thing is strong! Another neat thing it has been doing is swimming. The Bimac will climb to the highest point in the tank and swim all the way across. It is fun to watch and looks Squid like. Is it safe for me to feed it by hand? I wash my hand with water only and run carbon in a 150gl. I guess my concern is it bitting me and water pollution.

Hey Calvin
Sounds like thigs are going well. As long as your hands are clean it should be ok. Bimacs usually don't bite. They might scrastch you with their beak a little to see what your made of but it won't hurt. I caught wild octopuses in the wild before with my bare hands and didn't get bit either. It really depends on the species though. You would't want to handle a blue ring lol. All specis can bite but I think if you handle them when their young they will get used to you and be ok.

Hi

i always try to handfeed all my cephs and in the past no octo has bitten me. A cuttle did once but it didnt break the skin; just a little nip! not so bad.....
