cerith snail behavior

I have about 4 of these snails in my nano, and just yesterday night they started to do this, normally they are great around the sand bed... but they all started to do this since last night.

and have been for more than 24 hours... id poke them a bit and they all still move... anyone know if this is normal?

If you mean detaching from their shells, no, that's not normal. They won't live long like that. I believe this condition is often linked to copper contamination. The guys who have been through this should be able to give you better advice than I can, though.

check your alkalinity, it may be low.

i dont have anything to test alkalinity

but i did recently dose tank with flatworm exit...

its only those ones, the other snails are all doing fine...

ahh, it was the FW exit. They 'should' wake up in a couple of days. I had the same thing happen when I had to dose a tank with FW exit with ceriths in there. they laid around in a stupor for a day or two then buried themselves. I may have lost a few but most, if not all, seemed to make it thru OK.
