Cerith snail eggs!!

There are some species of cerith which have been successful at breeding in aquaria without help or specialized systems. For the most part the common ceriths ( whatever that means ) larvae have an extended planktonic stage and may also require settling cues which makes them difficult to breed in a standard home aquarium.

hmmm.
oh well worth a try, atleast i have my strombus maculatus and collonista snails.
if it helps any they are cerith snails from phishy business, he has a good pic of some of them on his site.
oh and as a note i found 2 more a egg strands. i think the thing that triggered the spawn was that i raised my nitrates.

How long have you had the ceriths? Have they laid eggs before?
Its gonna take longer than a week for the eggs to hatch and become baby snails, more like 1-2 months. Hopefully the little snails you are seeing on your ceriths arent parasitic pyramid snails.
I hope those aren't pyramid snails!!! They were just visible, white and circular--not cylindrical like the ceriths. I've had my cerithsfor just under a month and it was their first eggs. I have a 6 line in quarantine now so in another month or so-- I hope any pyramids don't wreck too much havoc before then.
